Groups & Fixtures of ‘ICC World Twenty20 – Sri Lanka 2012′

4:48 PM

Colombo: The ICC has announced the match schedule and also unveiled the event logo of the tournament which will be staged from 18 September to 7 October next year.

ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat said: “The ICC World Twenty20 has become a marquee event. I am pretty confident that Sri Lanka has got the experience to deliver another world-class event. The culture and diversity that comes with Sri Lanka is superb. I know it is a very popular destination for many tourists which convinces me that next year, you will see many foreign people coming to witness this tournament,”

If everything goes according to pre-tournament seedings then Pakistan and India will lock horns in a Super Eight match in Colombo on Sunday, 30 September.

Mr. Lorgat further said: “Whenever India plays Pakistan, all the fans become very attentive. People start watching with great interest. If it works according to those seedings, then that match will be a great reminder of the fine final in the inaugural event in Johannesburg.”

MAN KILLS WIFE FOR CHANGING FACEBOOK STATUS TO ‘SINGLE’

4:04 PM

A man murdered his estranged wife after he became “enraged” that she had changed her marital status to single on the social networking site Facebook.
Edward Richardson, 41, was found guilty of stabbing to death Sarah Richardson, 26, a hairdresser, in her parents’ house in Staffordshire on May 12 last year.
Fiona Cortese of the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Richarsdon became enraged when Sarah changed her marital status on Facebook to single and decided to go and see her as she was not responding to his messages.”
Stafford Crown Court heard that Richardson, a carpenter from Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent, had sought out Mrs Richardson in her parents house and entered by breaking the front door window.
“Once inside he found Sarah in her bedroom and subjected her to a frenzied and brutal attack with a knife and then attempted to take his own life,” said Ms Cortese.
She said: “We hope that today’s guilty verdict will go some way to easing the pain of Sarah’s friends and family after losing her in such a violent and abrupt way.”

Facebook introduce app for iPad

4:02 PM

Many of you have been asking about Facebook for iPad. Today, it’s finally here. With the iPad app, you get the full Facebook experience, right at your fingertips. It’s a fun way to keep up with friends, share photos, chat and more.
Here are some of the highlights.
A hands-on Facebook
Use your fingertips to scroll through your News Feed. Give the screen a swipe to page through albums. Pinch a picture to zoom in. Whatever you’re up to, using Facebook on your iPad just feels fun.
Bigger, better photos
Photos really shine on the iPad. They’re bigger and easy to flip through, like a real photo album. It’s like having a slideshow with all your friends and memories, wherever you go.
Navigate anywhere, fast
Your games, apps, groups and lists are in the left-hand menu, so you don’t have to dig around to find the stuff you use most. And your messages and notifications are at the top of every screen, so you can respond to friends and keep up with important updates—without losing your place.
Chat, games and other features
The app comes with a bunch of other new features: You can chat with friends right from your iPad, for example, or play games and use apps in full-screen mode. You can also watch high-res videos inline, record HD video and stream to Airplay devices.
Get the App
Facebook for iPad is now available in the App Store.
We’ve also made several improvements to the iPhone app and m.facebook.com. With your next update, you’ll see a simplified navigation, faster search and access to more games and apps.
